Delightfully Fattening

Cheesy Mushroom Broccoli

It's amazing how a good dish can instantly lighten up everyone's mood. This is why whipping up random yummies is a norm in our home.

This little dish is easy to make, requiring minimum effort and time. I wouldn't say it's all that healthy but it is a better alternative to other cheesy recipes!

Ingredients:

  • Broccoli
  • Button Mushroom (Canned)
  • Eden Cheese
  • Sugar
  • Secret Ingredient*

Recipe:

  1. Secret Measurements for the ingredients*
  2. Mix the Broccoli and Mushroom together and set half of the mix into your dish/plate/bowl
  3. Layer some cheese on top
  4. Add the other half of the Broccoli Mushroom mix
  5. Sprinkle some more cheese on top
  6. Sprinkle a generous amount of sugar
  7. Place in Microwave for 2.5 minutes at Moderately High Temperature

FamBam at Manila Ocean Park

Fambam at Manila Ocean Park

As it is the case for many families of our generation, it is hard for our family to find a common schedule to be together. Thankfully the holiday last week gave us a chance to spend some quality time with one another.

We went to Manila Ocean Park, and I can say that it was a day well spent!

The place is fairly easy to find (provided that you don't miss a turn, cause you will need to drive a looong way before reaching a u-turn slot) The park's located behind Quirino Grandstand and you can't miss the big sign outdoors that says "Manila Ocean Park"

Our first stop was the Liquid buffet inside the park

It's an open air buffet beside a small pool which is populated mostly by children.
Their food only had a few selections: Chicken Curry, Spaghetti, Pancit Bihon, Fresh fruits, Macaroni salad, Fish in Fried Batter and a few other dishes. But it was worth the promo price of P230/person (only until May 31, 2014)

We bought the Deep Sea Rush 5 Package. For P550 we had access to the Jellies Exhibit, the Sea Lion Show, the Oceanarium, the Musical Fountain Show, and the Shark and Rays Dry Encounter.

Off to the Jellies!

It was amusing to see the different kinds of jellyfish in the aquariums and the classical music made the ambiance very relaxing.

The park also had lots of souvenir shops and tiangge (flea market; little shops) that had pretty interesting items.

By 3pm, we went to see the Sea Lion Show

The show was done in an outdoor stadium (It was not such a good idea to see it at this time because of the blazing heat. The shows have different schedules to choose from so plan your itinerary accordingly.:) )

The sea lions were so cute and clever! The trainers/hosts were amazing in their spiel and choreography as well.

We then headed to the Oceanarium

There were so many fish..and so many people! It was almost impossible to get a decent picture out of that area.

But it was fun, especially in the aquarium cave where you can see big fishes and other sea creatures like sting rays swimming all around you.

Sadly, we weren't able to go to the Shark and Rays Dry Encounter because of the long line to get in. We got some pictures though!

Our next stop was the Fish Spa

For P150, you get 20mins (or longer, if there are not much people) immersing your feet in that pool of hungry fish.

These little fishies nibble like there is no tomorrow. Ticklish people have been warned!

We went straight to the Musical Fountain Show at the stadium

We fell in line 5:30pm for the 6:30pm show because there were so much people!

They let us in by 6pm and it was not so bad to just sit around waiting, after a whole day of walking around the park.

I'd say the show was exciting for the kids but not so much for the adults.
The water fountains and he lights were beautiful and there were some mini comical skits in between.

We had our dinner at North Park Noodle House inside the mall.

We started the day with food and we decided to end it with food as well. It was a fun and tiring day and it felt great to just sit down and gorge ourselves in North Park's Special Fried Rice and dimsum before finally heading home.

Overall, our Manila Ocean Park experience was superb. The place offered us a great bonding experience and we will be happy to go back and check out the other packages!
